For the field owner :

I you have a problem with customers complaining about wipers, guys playing on, being overshot you may wish to consider implementing a few rules sure to please:

• Playing on after obvious hit : done for the day. Repeat offenders : banned from field for 1 month. Habitual offenders : banned from field forever.
• Wipers : done for the day. Repeat offenders : banned from field for 1 month. Habitual offenders : banned from field forever.
• Over Shooters : done for the day. Repeat offenders : banned from field for 1 month. Habitual offenders : banned from field forever. (Overshooting defined as more than 2 breaks from a single shooter) Cap rate of fire for field at ROF of rentals.
• Enforcement: quietly work two player refs into a few game. cross reference and verify each others observations. Make examples of most egregious offenders first. Post cheating penalties in obvious places.

For the players - changing the field:

If you witness obvious and repeated cheating by an individual or team,

• 1) Identify the individual or team.
• 2) Get another witness to verify what you saw.
• 3) Ask the local ref what the fields policy is on handeling the type of cheating you witnessed.
• 4) Ask the ref to enforce the fields policy.
• 5) If the field has no policy or takes no action, suggest to the field owner the tips above. (For the field owner)

Never lower yourself to cheating to get even.

For the players - changing the cheater:

One thing I do to help educate "wipers and guys who play on after hit" is the following:

• Sneak in close to the padawan.
• Take good cover
• While they are taking fire from another direction, one ball them nice and quiet and dont say a word. Don't let them know where it came from or where you are.
• Give them the chance to call themselves out (call it 3 seconds)
• If they call it, great. If not, savor the moment as you follow up with a few more rounds.
• Back in the staging area after the game, make comment of the look on their face when you put the first ball on them. Keep it fun after all, you just owned them, caught them cheating, and owned them again. Remember to smile.
