Could've used alot more participation, but I had a good time. Robbie, Del, The new compressor rocks, no complaints with the paint. To LB and the rest of the SOCOM forces, thanks for a great standup game! to the guy from Bravo 2 Zero that filled in for L.B. on Saturday my hats off to you as well, you guys were TOUGH! oh and for those of you that let the cold stop you from enjoying a great game the PRA pulled out a squeaker and beat the SOCOM forces by 10 points"

SaharaJunkee : 2006.12.10: (JAPS) "Interesting format; never quite played a game like this. Yes it was COLD... Thanks to all the teams that joined the PRA side and froze ur arses off with us.. Great job on your leadership...especially filling in last minute.. My hats off to you boys.. To the other SOCOM folks.... we enjoyed it... there were some awesome battles. old post from pbjunkie.com -- POST Game (By LB)

I was indeed the general at the event for the special forces side. About 90 people showed up I believe. Our insertion was bunker hill. The game was set up so that our team basically started at -1700 points. The other team had no missions. Our team had a stack of missions and had to complete 80 percent of them to break even and win. When I arrived, it was dinner time so I started working at 8:00 pm with 940 points won, so we needed 760 more. I managed to field 5 players to play between 8 and midnight and with them, I racked up 400 more points by the time the bell rang. One of our missions was screwed up by the refs because they didn't tell us about a potential extra 200 points that could've easily been had. But oh well. That left 360 points to score the next morning. The next morning I walked on the field at 8 am anticipating other cold players not wanting to be on the field so early. As the only player on our team on the field, I personally began running side missions for an hour and a half with no weapon and finished them all off, scoring us 350 (!) points. The last mission I ran, I sprinted with no gun within 40 feet of a guy with an Ego who railed on me. I ran for 50 yards with him chasing me down (with no gun). I tagged the tree that was my mission objective, grabbed the hole puncher, punched my card and turned around to the barrel of an ego 8 feet away. Surrender, but with 100 points. All in all, that left 10 points to win outright. At this point, players were obviously starting to come onto the field. My team had 2 guys and the enemy had about 12 at this point. The only mission we had left to do was to hold the monolith for 30 minutes. The other team had a spawn at Fort Apache. My 2 guys harrassed them for an hour or so until finally I managed to get my lazy guys onto the field. So it's finally about 20 on 20 with constant firefights at No Man's Land and the monolith. With their spawn so close, we manage to take it a few times, but never hold it for 30 minutes. Finally, around 11, the firefights die down and I gear up to help my team out to win this thing. I sneak through the woods and manage to lay down behind that dirt hill by the monolith within loud whispering distance of the bad guys. I radioed Del to start the clock. He did, and walked by to confirm I was there. I layed there, sprawled out for 21 minutes. Without any other teammates around, the bad guys just kept walking by, chatting away. I radioed for my team to hit the tower. I got some rogers, but it never happened. Finally, some guys from my team started sneaking in on my position. I rolled over and showed them my armband and motioned for them to go away or stay down. They thought it better to continue to sneak around left of the monolith. Of course they were spotted and the bad guys started a counter move. Of course, I am now where the enemy would love to be in order to take out my teammates. I let them get in close and shoot at my guys a bit, but finally had to pop up. Shot 5 people at close range before being taken out. But that was it. 9 minutes to go and no dice. That left 20 minutes left in the entire game, so it was over at that point. Del told me to give the MVP to myself, but that couldn't happen. I gave the MVP to one of the guys running missions the night before in the cold weather, and the sportsmanship award to the first guy who came on the field the next morning and ran with me alone for 30 minutes. All in all, I had a blast.
