In
attendence by Section8 : 2007-01-06 - And on a warm
winters day, Section8 played a bit of recball at the farmhouse
w/ the a few Paincell, a couple of Bridgestone guys, a few
guys from augusta - 41 in total. In attenence by section8
we had : Thumper, LB, Kyle, William, Robert, Chuck, DJ, Great
Zen & MatzaNuts, Steers & Michael & Virgil, and
Deebo. I played the last 2 games, but otherwise ran games,
took pics & reffed.

GAMES PLAYED
 |
Scenario Players Challenge : hold 3 spinners
around Farm House -- The day started with planting some
spinners - 3 in the wood patch surrounding the farmhouse.
One in front of the farmhouse front porch, one in front
of the barn, and one in the south side finger near the
spider hole.
The first game was 12 section8 & guests went to
hold all three spinners, "for as long as you can
or until one team cries uncle" against 29ish attackers.
The attackers also had a nearby endless spawn. Once
a defender was shot, they would join the attackers.
(12) Section8 & guests lasted 13:41 against 29 attackers

Scenario Players Challenge : hold 3 spinners
around Farm House -- Next Paincell was invited to take
the defenders challenge, and picked a few fellows. DJ,
LB, ZEN and Steers went for sure. Im not sure about the
rest. I know they overlooked Robert and Chuck. Defender
Grant slips in the south east treeline and waits on the
attackers to draw near. What happens next is legendary.
Half of the attackers chase him, across the hay field,
tire and he counter attacks (1 on 9), and then they chase
him again - loosing valuable time. I thought Grendel was
the master of this technique, but Grant has the honor
this day.
(3) Paincell + (9) Secton8 lasted 13:51 against 29 attackers

Two flag in the east woods -- Next, Steers &
I went over into the north-east woodline, and planted
two more spinners. The we split everyone up into two even
sides, and played a couple of games of two flag using
traffic cones as flags, no time limit, no boundaries... |
 |
Two flag in the east woods -- ...I forget the
outcome, but seeing drew and grant skip across the hayfield
singing may have scarred me for life. |
 |
Island of Dr. Morreau -- Next we took a breather,
and drew starts hounding me to do something crazy - something
to do with invinsible monsters. I adapt a game I created
"The Island of Dr. Morreau", and put
a cone in the middle of the hayfield, with endless spawn
points 360 ft apart, with the cone in the middle. A small
patch of grass near the cone serves as the Island for
the mosters, who were initially restricted to stay on
the island. Objective: each main team to kick the cone
over.
On the first attempt, little William darts out, kicks
the can and game is over in 3 seconds flat. We stand
the cone up and try again, the world a little wiser.
|
 |
Island of Dr. Morreau -- On the second attempt,
the teams come out slugging, and I begin releasing the
invinsible mosters from the island: first Zen (with his
slingshot), then drew, then grant, then spyderman. They
sort of push the two teams back into their spawns. (I
tell the monsters to not come w/in 50 ft of a player).
A few mad dashes to kick the can meet with hales of fire,
and the mosters take a brutal pounding - but hey, they
are monsters, right? One of the young locals makes a successful
dash, and the game is over. The players really seems to
love this one. Drew oddly seemed in his element. Zen is
just nuts. |
 |
JFK had a Bad Day - I then start chewing on adapting
a game I made up called "JFK had a Bad Day"
for the farmhouse. First we place a pair of cones in the
field 100 ft from the farmhouse treeline 100 yards apart
to serve as spawns, then a third team (Oswald and his
accomplisses), take the evidence inside the Book Depository
building to defend against the two teams (the Canadian
Mounties and the Chad Militia), endless spawn for the
two main teams. And the game is on. The locals and mentally
present folk attack the farmhouse and quickly remove Oswald
and his assomplisses (Robert and his wife), but the problem
remains, Mounties hold once side of the house and Chad
Militia hold the other - with the critical evidence in
the middle. It then gets close and personal as the two
teams do a little close quarts combat, clearing the house
and searching for the evidence. Meanwhile Drew is skipping
around the hayfield antogonizing the enemy. I forget who
won, but this really seems to eb a great game for this
location. - SO we turn it around, and add a few more Oswalds
(DJ, ZEN I think (yes, with his slingshot), and a young
local boy) and the game is on. Again, the rush for the
Book Depository is on, and things get hairy REAL QUICK.
The Oswalds get squeezed pretty quickly, and the two main
teams pile in the two sides... I forget who won, but the
players who play a lot really seemed to get into this
one. Im sure we will play this one again... |
 |
Then, insanity sets in a Grant and Zen call a mano-a-mano
in the hayfield, slingshot vs sniper II, no cover. |
 |
 And
we wrap up with 3 games of kick the can at the
farm house. |
A small army packs out to the little mexican place in Leesville
for some well earned chow, and all the sweet tea in Leesville.
Thanks to Bob for the paint, air and a ton of Spyder Spring
Kits - I only heard good things about the paint. It was BYOP,
but lots of folks got their paint from Bob instead of Uncle
Wally.
Thanks to Paincell for turning out - Spydie - it was great
to have you check us out. It sounds like yall had more fun
than any normal people should.
Please stay tuned for the next episode of "The Farm
House" : what will Drew do next?
