JAPSs missions: (report by Steers)

When we arrived, we were restricted from walking the field due to explosives set all over the place in store for the invasion….only Japs were allowed on and we saw many of them walking in and out. We did not see the field until noon.

8:45 PM- Free food…Barbeque, hotdogs, mashed potatoes…get some!!!

After camp was set up, Steers caught up with General ‘Scatter Gun’ and
Received word that Capt.’s meeting was going to take place after the free
Meal. After we ate, Steers went to go say hi to Sewer Rats, who’s members
Were standing X.O.’s for the Japs and were at the time, holding a Capt.’s meeting
Of their own.

By Steers

“When I arrived, I shook hands with the same guy who was our
General from PBC’s Tobruk. He didn’t recognize me as Section 8
Or even remembered my name. I introduced myself as Ben and said
That I was a member of Ballbusters and that I hoped to do missions
During the event (all said being true and remaining neutral from
placing myself As an American or Jap). Without missing a beat,
he says that he Wanted me doing everything and that our team (Our
team, him subconsciously Remembering Section 8’s performance
on the field) and I quote,
“did every mission during Tobruk and won us the game”. He asked
Me what I wanted as far as special role cards and I.D.’s and I started
Spouting off random positions like Medic, Demo, Recon Helicopter,
Sniper, and XO card. He gave me every single one willingly and I sat in for the
Entire Capt.’s meeting hearing their plans for the invasion on Saturday
Morning. Before I left, he gave me two copies of their custom made maps.”

After meeting with Sewer Rats, I met with Bobio from Black Hearts and we went
To the American Capt.’s meeting. When we arrived, I gave the American General
The I.D. cards I found and explained what had happened.

9:35 PM- Capt.’s meeting at Ghost Squad Camp:

When Bobio and I arrived, the General had a large map laid out with a plan of
His own. He explained his plan and refused to listen and take any suggestions or comments from team captains and said plainly, “this is what were going to do”

His plan consisted of placing every team into Division on certain marked territories of the field. He asked all team captains to mark walk-ons with neutral colored tape on their arms which signified the division, this was supposed to utilize the walk-ons and guide them to the right areas. His plan was to have every team basically stay on territory security for the whole game. He did not take into account that people will leave to reload and eat lunch and was supremely confident in his plan and that every one would cooperate. After he explained the plan, he then started assigning teams to territories.
After hearing this, I took Bobio aside and asked what he thought about this guy and his plan. Like Bobio, I was willing to not say anything and give him a chance. It seemed to me that what he was saying sounded great on paper and in words, but would fail the second the game started.

Very calmly, I stepped up when captains began to disperse and with Bobio backing me up asked if two Section 8 members could assist with Missions running. He nodded and said that sounded fine. Bobio also asked if one of Black Heart’s radio operators could sit in the general’s box with the higher grade radios that they were using. The general also nodded and said yes.
Bobio expressed the desire that Section 8 run with armor and that the organized
Infantry and armor at PBC was something that he loved. I explained that because
Of our low number probably only 2 Section 8 would be actively running missions
Possibly hanging with the armor.

Saturday

8:00 –Enemy XO discovers my identity and asks for the XO I.D. back. He was laughing
And wasn’t angry at all, instead, he shook my hand, gave me a hug and said that
He should have known –Ben Torricelli was in the background laughing at me.

12:00 –Game on. The invasion went on for 2 hours straight. The loud sound effects made
It difficult to find pre-placed snipers on the field and eliminate them.

3:00 –Search for crashed survivor at Tomas and hold for 20 minutes.
Complete. This was later discarded when the prop was never placed on the field
To begin with.

3:30 –Sniper Misison. Harass base from Cainta and shoot General or X.O..
-Completed harassment. (General and X.O. were inside the netted area)

Saturday Night

At the start, the base was moved to Rosales where we re-spawned.

8:45- Section 8 pulls security at tape line waiting on the next mission

9:00- Hold Tomas and Santo for 20 minutes. –Complete

For this mission, Hank and two other with the Dutchmen accompanied
Section 8 on this mission. The Dutchmen shared the same love for pumps
And emags as we did and during the mission displayed tactical actions that
I would expect to see from Thumper.
With out saying a word, Hank draws enemy fire and with well placed shots, the sewer rats become disoriented all around with one-shot-one kills. The sniping was insane. Hank was patient when Kyle was taken out at Santo, and remained back at Tomas, Steers picked off 7 Sewer Rats/Japs before being discovered.

After Steers’ discovery the mission was a complete.

Steers, not being hit, faked a “balls shot” and came out moaning. With the Sewer Rats laughing their heads off, Steers barrel tags all except one. With the ref unsure of barrel tagging at night, he said that my actions were null and void and that the Sewer Rats, who’s mission was the same as ours, were all still alive. After informing him that Ben Torricelli legalized barrel tagging at night, he checked with the head ref, saying that he didn’t remember. Even the head ref over the radio said NO BARREL TAGS and I asked the ref to contact Ben Torricelli to confirm. When saying this, the Sewer Rats stepped up and said that I was right and that Ben T. legalized ramping at night…just then Ben T. said over the radio that I was right.

9:45 –Hold Baler for 20 minutes and sweep the area for gold bars. After holding off Japs
From two engagements, we returned to base with 6 gold bars. Complete.

10:20 –Hold Agno for 20 minutes. Complete

Night play ended at 10:25 for safety reasons

Allies Japs
1925 2325

Sunday Morning

9:30 –hold the intersection of Chino rd. and Manila Hwy. for 20 minutes and find prop.
-Failed

10:00 –Hold Agno for 20 minutes with tank support. Complete.
Note: Detonated booby trap

10:30 – Hold Angat for 20 minutes and find gold. –Steers ran with a member of Assasin
Nation. Complete. Note: We made a very close attempt in shooting the general
And nearly succeeded. Along the way back to base, we went skipping through a
Major gun fight from the Jap’s back door :0)

STEERS ADDS:

What can I say,

the terrain at Bear Claw took my feet right off of me I thought Casino Royal was crazy, but I'm not gonna beable to walk for a week for this trip!

Ben, Bonnie, thank you so much for putting on a great event....top notch!

Everytime I come its gets better and better.......and those missions seem to get harder and harder

.....take it easy next time

Sewer rats / Moles, It is allways a pleasure and a joy to play with or against y'all.

During night play, the Sewer rats all stepped up and called themselves out during the questionable call of barrel tagging....in doing so, they gave up their mission giving us a double whammy
-This should speak volumes of who they are...right on guys!!!

I'm pretty bumbed that I didn't get the general or Xo, after having made 9 attempts through out the game....at night, the General himself blasted me as I came up the tape line

Y'all's base security was top notch... besides the fact that y'all were in the netted area every time I came.

Whoever it was that fought me with the recon planes, dude, that was insane!

I can't remember his name, but there was a guy from Assassins, who ran a mission with me, we got through enemy lines, completed the mission, and tried to kill the general on our way back. As we were going back to base, we came up on the back-door of atleast 100 enemy players fighting our boys at the front line, anyone who didn't see, we went skipping together through a cross fire and didn't get hit,
it was a pleasure man!!!

Odd Ball, the time spent playing with you was awesome, you did a good job keeping the flanks covered and people busy...can't wait to play with you again!

After having played at Bear Claw I have to commend the superb reffing staff. I rarely ran into a single ref who knew the rules, the missions, and had a watch to time us and get us out. Every ref was very professional, and was at EVERY SINGLE MISSION OBJECTIVE -a first for me.

Thank you so much for keeping the game safe and fun!

I met alot of new faces on this trip...it was a pleasure, and I'm sure that some are out to kill me for the cards that I got from the XO ....I know I know, I'm dead meat.

Thanks a bunch to the owners of Bear Claw for making this possible and again, the hard work of Ben, Bonnie, and the awesome reffing staff who did the best job I've ever seen!

p.s.-Major props on the explosives used at the beach landing!
