Ben reported just over 300 players in attendance at game
start -- after Ben picked teams I heard the sides were w/in
one players of balanced numbers wised, but then after reviewing
the paired teams he asked bonnie to swing 20 players from
chinese to marines - making the inital side 130 chinese vs
170 marines.
Chinese : General MilkShaKe (RIOT), XO's : Big Bear &
Thumper (Section8), Bon (Hired Guns), and Link (Phules Gold
/ Section8) got a field promotion to XO on Sunday at 9:15a
working out of the swamp base on Saturday. Switched based
on Sun AM.
Marines : General Omniforce (I'm lacking detail here)

IMO : My assessment - This game reminded me a lot of past
game I attended in 2005 where a decently movivated troop over
ran a lesser force, and the lessor force ends up with a few
determined players doing a lot of heavy lifting - eventually
falling to overwheling numbers. In this case, the lessor force
was the Chinese army.
As mission dispatcher it seemed we were around 80-90 players
at game start on Saturday, well shy of 130 attached to the
Chinese. To my recollection, it felt like our 80-90 player
mass shrank as the day wore on to roughly 50 players on the
field by dinner stand down.. but those 50 were playing their
hearts out.
As we dispatched everyone we had available on every mission,
the mission team would frequently be met by overwhelming opposition
at the mission objective while at the same time our base was
being surrounded by again impressive numbers. I guess there
was a good Chinese football game on TV or something.
To our own fault, we had a lot of well known teams and players
who didn't want to do anything mission oriented - making the
remainder of the Chinese army have to carry just that much
more weight.
The opposition made very good use of their tanks with some
solid coordinated infantry support. (props to O.G. from Shadow
Co) Our two tanks did not run radios on Saturday - and later
fell apart. Once they left the base, they were not reachable
for mission support. On Sunday morning Ben flipped Shadow
Co's tank over to us and I gave him one of my radios - and
at for a while we made good use of O.G. for mission support
and pushing back a few base attacks.
Sunday for while we held our own, with a very solid start...
but by mid morning it seemed the situation was back. It felt
like maybe 50 chinese on the field as the final battle approached.
---Props--
Sienna : You rock m'Lady! Props from Section8 for all you
do for PBC.
Jedi : you rock! any war, any day my friend.
Shake : I didn't know you had that much game in you old man..
Props to the cow -- lots of heart behind those udders.
O.G. : Thanks for the help on Sunday sir.. It helped considerably.
Aggsauce : You are a pain in my a$$.. nice work sir.
White Trash Circus, Pub Crawling : ^ ditto. We REALLY could
have used you guys.
Riot : We tried fellas... Great effort and heart by all.
- love the suits. lol.
Nolan (& Necro Clan): major props young man. I asked,
and you delivered - and kept coming back for more.
Section8 : Hell of an effort fellows... and great fun to
boot... Maybe next game we can kick back some and just go
shoot folks... and contratulations again to Ricky Jones, Eddie
& Brett Fenstermaker on making the team.
While I dont speak for Shake on this matter : To the Chinese
who made it on the field, toughed it out to the end, and gave
that extra 25% when nothing was left - my hat is off to you
all. Great heart fellas.
Ben, Bonnie, PBC : Thanks again. I know we got whipped hard
- but I had a blast none the less. And I learned a few lessons
that only a solid whippin can teach... and even that is part
of the game.
